IP surveillance is a digitised and networked version of closed-circuit television (CCTV). In an IP surveillance system, an IP camera records video footage and the resulting content is distributed over an IP (Internet protocol) network.
By far the greatest benefit from modern IP CCTV systems, apart from excellent picture quality, is the ability to see CCTV images and recordings remotely from anywhere that has an IP connection, even abroad.
